XProtect Update/Black Friday Announcement Last week, we talked about XProtect, an app built into every Mac yet does not appear in the Applications folder. XProtect is essentially Apple's backdoor to your Mac to keep it safe from malware and viruses. At the end of last week's tutorial, I asked you to go to the following location: Apple Menu... System Settings... Privacy and Security.. and look at what apps request Full Disk Access. Based on the comments we received, MANY of you didn't see XProtect appear in the list, and some reported that it was turned off. This doesn't mean XProtect isn't running, but it is very curious why the item doesn't appear for all users. We're still at the stage where we're collecting more information, but if you're willing to help us out, let me know in the comments if you see XProtect appear in this list and whether or not it was turned on.
