Budget Haswell 8 Core Xeons Vs New CPUs (E5-2630 and 2640 v3)
If you want 8 cores and 16 threads on a budget, and still want AVX2 support, quad channel ddr4 memory support, and of course something that runs quite fast, then these budget 8 cores Xeons from Aliexpress are definitely worth a look, after doing what is known as the V3 Full Turbo unlock, they are able to get to 3.2GHz (2630 v3) and 3.4GHz (2640 v3) all core respectively. Though there is also the 2630l v3, which is cheaper but we didn't get a chance to test that today. All numbers are done with 3200MHz CL14 on the new stuff, and low and behold just out of the box budget DDR4 at 1866 in quad channel on the Xeons, showing that the quad channel memory really makes these relevent CPUs for practically anything in 2020.
